Welcome to my site.

My name is John Richards. I live in a village near Hereford, England.

I have recently completed an Open University photographic course (T189) and I am now in the first year of a two year course with the BFP School of Photography.

I have had a lifelong interest in Photography. As a teenager I had my first decent camera and darkroom. Although I had to give them up when my career and subsequent family (and mortgage) became a priority.

Sport has always played an important part in my life. However age has taken its toll on my body, which can no longer cope with the running and orienteering anymore! (I had to give up the contact sports long ago)!

Now I have reached an age and have the freedom to do 'what I want'. One of the things I have returned to is Photography.

I have included on my site a handful of 'vintage' photographs - well pictures I took in the 1970's and 80's. These are scans and not the same quality as the digital images.

I would like to become a freelance photographer who specialises in sports photography, however at the moment I am just happy to take and 'show off' all my images.

All photographs on my site are for sale. (Unless otherwise marked). Note all the images are low res (72dpi)and a maximum width of 600pxls due to website restrictions. I have also added a watermark in the form of my name and the year I took the photograph.
